We are looking for a Manager of Facilities for our Baltimore, Maryland facility.
Based at the Baltimore Maryland facility, you will oversee the facilities and right of way used for MARC train service. Responsibilities include preservation and repair of all facilities, maintenance of track and signals owned by MTA, and management of subcontractors. This position is railroad eligible for retirement.
In your role you will:
- Be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all MTA stations, parking facilities, and right of way used for MARC train service on the Camden and Brunswick lines;
- Manage HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and routine structural and construction repairs for these facilities;
- Negotiate and oversee subcontracts to provide snow removal and landscaping services;
- Schedule inspection of the MTA owned track, signals, and bridges, ensuring compliance with FRA, state and other regulations;
- Supervise Maintenance of Way (MOW) staff, inventory, and MOW reporting and record keeping;
- Negotiate subcontracts and track their performance;
- Monitor MBE goals, achievements, and reporting related to these subcontracts;
- Assist in quoting new jobs, working with vendors to obtain the best price;
- Work in collaboration with Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager to ensure efficiencies;
- Ensure all employee/subcontractor training is completed as required and that records are kept in full compliance with regulations;
- Respond to customer feedback and requests related to facilities;
- Performs other related duties as required.
As our ideal candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing general construction projects, including maintenance of way work, and experience in railroad track maintenance;
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing contracts, including those with subcontracts.
- Union management experience will be considered as an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- English communication skills (written and spoken) are excellent.
