Facilities Manager

POSITION: Facilities Manager

Make a difference in the lives of New York City’s older adults, their families, and the community. For over 60 years PSS has performed vital and important work -- through its ten centers, two apartment buildings and affiliated programs, the agency touches the lives of over 1,000 people a day. As the Facilities Manager for PSS, you will be responsible for assuring effective operations of our catering kitchen and various senior centers. Your oversight will help PSS to prepare and distribute nutritious meals to our seniors every day and assure that our centers keep our older members healthy, engaged and connected.  

This is a full-time non-exempt position that reports directly to the Center Director.

Responsibilities:

• Assure proper maintenance of facilities and kitchens including purchasing of equipment, Installation, and vendor contacts.
• Completing project related paperwork including purchase orders, check request and other financial duties as assigned.
• Oversee Center facilities upkeep. Including handling of major purchases and renovation projects.
• Follow PSS/ NYCHA/NYC Aging policy and procedure regarding operations and projects.
• Respond with action plan for facility issues and complete any CAP (Corrective Action Plans) when applicable.
• Provide oversight for kitchen operations including staff supervision.
• Create and maintain all food permits for sites.
• Obtaining catering contracts and partnerships for the growth of our kitchen facilities.
• Provide guidance supervision and support for facility staff.
• Traveling amongst sites to oversee projects and updates as needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School Diploma Required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Facility management experience
• Budget management experience
• Staff supervision experience
• Familiar with Building and FDNY codes
