Fabricate formed products with manufacturing supervision and routers, blue prints, bill of materials, while maintaining quality standards.
Verify layouts for structural rolled shapes, made from plate for company product line.
Safely operate Plate Rolls, fabrication cutting tools, and welding machines.
Weld or tack long seams as needed to satisfy fit, form and function of product parts.
Ability to rig and prepare parts for moving materials to next shop location.
Maintain equipment, Plate Rolls, and inspect machines for daily operations.
Verify and perform 1st Article Inspections per company procedures and management request for ISO quality program.
Ensure correct materials have been delivered to Plate Rollers by checking to drawings, routers, and supplied documents.
Measure finished work pieces to determine if they are the right size and inspect for defects.
Use meters, gauges, and other precision instruments.
Perform other responsibilities and duties as directed by Supervisor and Management.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, grinders, pry bars, scrapers, air tools, tape measures for metal fabrication burn plate environment.
Keep work area clean and orderly and report potential issues.
Education and Experience
5+ years in metal manufacturing shop operating Plate Rollers, welding machines, & various fabrication equipment.
High school diploma, GED, vocational certificate
Additional Skills and Requirements
Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision & attention to detail.
Must be proficient operation of oxy fuel / plasma burn table to which assigned.
Ability to read drawing and identify possible issues.
Strong verbal communication and teamwork ethic.
Take direction and stay on task.
Physical Demand
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, climb, push, and pull.
Continuous walking and/or standing.
Sometimes lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
Good hand/eye coordination.
Good visual acuity – cannot be color blind.
Ability to work in hot, cold, or dusty environment with noisy conditions.
