Department Overview
The Human Resources Project and Lean Enablement team provides direction and defines decision-making procedures and metrics for validating impacts to projects. We partner with the Enterprise Lean Office and serve as Lean ambassadors for HR. We work towards becoming a Center for Enablement for Project Guidance and Continuous Improvement, providing best practices documentation for HR initiatives.
Position Summary
The Expert HR Business Project Manager will manage aspects of project implementation from inception to closeout, managing the scope, schedule, change management, and operations. You will also utilize your Lean skillset and tools to identify and minimize project risks and/or process gaps.
This position is classified as a hybrid work type. The successful candidate should generally plan to work from the Oakland General Office 0-3 days per week, on average.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $144,000
Bay Area Maximum: $244,000
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Partner with the Enterprise Lean Office to understand recommended Lean tools and implement best practices for HR
- Assist in the development, distribution, and implementation of strategies, methodologies, and processes to support successful delivery of HR projects and programs
- Manage multiple, critical cross-functional HR projects and initiatives
- Develop, measure and report on the success of the various critical HR project and initiatives
- Identify and maintain strong working relationships with all HR strategic programs, partners, and stakeholders
- Identify new partners, stakeholders, and delivery channels
- Solve unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions using Lean tools and methodologies
- Demonstrate strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support Company and HR specific goals
- Collaborate across HR organization to ensure alignment of goals to support project/program.
- Organize and lead project teams to influence business decisions
- Facilitate Lean workout sessions to identify root cause of process constraints and work with the appropriate stakeholders to generate innovative solutions to streamline processes and improve the customer experience
- Mentor less experienced team members on Project Management as well as Lean methodologies
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or job-related discipline
- 8 years of related work experience
- Project Management Professional Certification
Desired:
- Lean Six Sigma Certified Yellow Belt or Higher
- Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
- Deep knowledge and expertise of business and/or industry drivers
- Ability to lead medium to large projects across HR with cross-functional teams
- Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
- Ability to lead Lean workout sessions
- Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
- Demonstrated organizational skills in multi-tasking and managing multiple projects
- Self-directed, with the ability to anticipate and identify urgent needs
