Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.
Under direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), Business Technology Management Bureau, the Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) acts as a lead Information Security Technology (IT) Senior Project Manager (PM), responsible for independently directing, coordinating, and managing the most complex and sensitive enterprise Information Security projects. The ITS II demonstrates a depth of leadership and expertise in security operations and is a high-level technical security specialist. The ITS II is fully responsible for directing the following activities: project execution, implementation and maintenance within the California Project Management Framework (CA-PMF), and California Department of Technology (CDT) Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL). Works internally and with cross-functional teams to implement security controls across the enterprise and work as a liaison between those teams: CIO, networking, infrastructure, application development, Information Security Office, Privacy Office, business, and program managers to resolve any identified issues. Facilitates and/or managing Information Security risk assessments including, the process for proactively identifying, tracking, mitigating, and communicating risks. Conducts business analysis, documents requirements, procedures and identifies information assets. Assists IT Management staff in long range planning and development of operational information technology security strategies, systems, architecture, and policies. Serves as CDI's Technology Recovery Coordinator and works with control agencies to comply with state administrative requirements. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute as a team member is required. Effective written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer focus are also required.
Occasional travel may be required within and/or outside the state of California via private or public transportation (i.e., automobile, airplane, etc.) Travel may include overnight stay. Overtime may be required.

Working Conditions
• Must be able to work in a high rise building between floors 11-17.
• Ability to transport documents and/or equipment up to 15-20 lbs., i.e. laptop computer, files, reference manuals, solicitation documents, etc.
• Eligible for telework in accordance with CDIs Telework policy. Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants must reside in California.
