We are looking for an Environmental Fire Safety Specialist to join our growing team! In your role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the safety programs of Clovis Community Medical Center and Community Behavioral Health Center with the mission of maintaining a safe environment for all levels of our healthcare system. You should be confident in your ability to carry out critical evaluations and assessments in order to prevent accidents or injuries. From providing your regulatory compliance expertise, to promoting an integrated culture of safety, you will be integral in establishing tools and services that allow Community to recognize and address health and safety hazards.

Responsibilities
In your role, you will:
- Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Seven Environment of Care Management Plans and performance improvement activities associated with identified safety risks.
- Be responsible for fire drills, fire extinguisher training, fire/life safety inspections, hazard identification evaluation and control, hazardous materials/waste management, and environmental regulatory compliance.
- Manage Hot Work permit process, including but not limited to Hot Work assessments, permits and inspections.
- Conduct regular construction inspections, document results and provide follow-up to the project manager or designee.
- Participate in pre-project Risk Assessments Committee and evaluate safety risks.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Safety/Health, Fire Since Industrial Hygiene, or closely related field required
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate and 3 years of experience in closely related field may be substituted for Bachelor's Degree
Licenses and Certifications
- CHSP - Certified Healthcare Safety Professional required within 2 years of hire or transfer into position
