Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Press Operator to join our team!
General Position Summary:
Press Operators safely and efficiently perform printing-related tasks. They must have the knowledge and skills of associated machinery to identify and prevent issues and an artistic eye for proper color and other aesthetics. Press Operators perform equipment setup and minor maintenance. They make ready, operate, and adjust printing press to maintain required quality and quantity of production.
Shift Time:
- 1st shift: 6am-2:30pm
- 2nd shift: 2:15pm-10:45pm
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process job on press based on work order requirements.
- Ensure machine is running efficiently and that job is completed in accordance with work order requirements.
- Mount paper, dies, and plates.
- Set punch unit and change perfs.
- Adjust inks and paper.
- Verify order materials are ready for job completion.
- Make boxes, package product, and label as required.
- Maintain an organized, safe, clean, and efficient work area.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Suggest and participate in implementation of changes to improve the organization.
- May explain and offer guidance on routine procedures.
- Move vectra/ folder.
- Set up ink tray or pump.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate basic level of speech, reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English.
- Must have basic math and mechanical skills.
Essential Work Competencies
- Moderate physical effort involving objects frequently up to 20 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively interact with others in a positive manner.
- Ability to address issues utilizing skills, knowledge, precedent and procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
