Job Description. We are currently seeking a Administrative Assistant, Journeyman to support PMA-281 at the Patuxent River, MD Program Office. 

Functional Description:  The Administrative Assistant, Journeyman will support the TMPC IPT Lead and perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers.

Specific tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative assistance, such as writing and editing e-mails, drafting memos, and preparing communications
  • Maintain and coordinate calendars and meetings on behalf of the TMPC Level 1’s
  • Distribute briefs and files for meetings
  • Update 30.60.90 and events calendar.
  • Update team’s leave calendar as needed (most team members do it themselves)
  • Update TMPC’s channel with new information for the team daily
  • Submit travel/vouchers and x org requests as they are submitted to me   
  • Call the DTS National Help Desk/Sato as needed with troubles regarding travel order for travelers
  • Edit PowerPoint slides/Word Documents as needed for the team
  • Manage Microsoft Planner task tracking tool
  • Create meeting markers that are requested from the team members   
  • Update slides every Monday for the TMPC IPT Monday meeting  
  • Update slides every other Tuesday for the Biweekly Coordination Developer Meeting   
  • Clean up IPT leads calendar as needed
  • Run meetings as needed   
  • Provide reminders to IPT leads when travel orders/vouchers need to be reviewed. 
  • Submit local travel vouchers as needed 
  • Send out morning messages to the OPS/Leadership team on scheduled meetings for the day
  • Handling new hire and farewell documents as needed
  • Work on more/new ideas on how to organize the team
  • Handle all OPS/Leadership meeting markers
  • Organize the TMPC Team’s channel
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Programs to include Outlook and Word, and familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Coordinate/schedule/facilitate/attend meetings

Required Experience and Education:  A Journeyman level person within a labor category has 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS degree. A Journeyman level person typically performs all functional duties independently.

Education Substitution: 6 years’ additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree plus 4 years’ additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.

Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance (with potential for TS.) Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Required Skills

Associates Degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent.


Required Experience

Minimum 2 years equivalent relevant work experience.
