Our mission is to improve the lives of cats and dogs through adoption and community partnerships.
Homeward Bound Pets Humane Society is Oregon’s first no-kill shelter and has been helping cats and dogs in the McMinnville and Yamhill County area for over 45 years. Every animal that comes to our shelter stays with us until they are adopted. We believe that each animal has unique qualities that someone is looking for in a companion and that time increases the chances of them finding each other.
We are seeking an Executive Director who will bring harmony integrating the mission, vision, and strategy of the organization. You will be able to continue the positive impact this organization has had on the animals we serve and the community at large. Through strong relationships internally and externally, you will create a culture that fosters loyalty and dependability.
YOUR ROLE
Using your leadership skills, you will be leading the organization and collaborating with the board to ensure operations run smoothly and they are able to make informed decisions. Sharing your creativity and ideas with the board will enhance team unity and further the purpose of HBPets.
You will lead the team for the overall management and direction of the organization and oversee all programs offered: shelter, thrift shop, spay/neuter clinic, and Angel Fund.
By connecting with the community, you will explore creative ways that guarantee the financial health of Homeward Bound Pets including grant seeking, proposal writing, and reporting. HBPets takes pride in fostering a culture of empathy, teamwork, and innovation. You will collaborate with the board and your team to ensure these approaches are continued. You will lead a passionate team, shape the future of animal welfare, and be an integral part of a community that values the inherent worth of every life.
