We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate should have extensive cooking experience, strong leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing kitchen financials, conducting training sessions, and assisting in the recruitment of new kitchen personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Culinary Leadership:
- Demonstrate culinary expertise by actively participating in cooking and food preparation.
- Create and update menus in collaboration with the management team.
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet the highest standards.
- Kitchen Supervision:
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Provide guidance and direction to kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies as needed.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
- Financial Management:
- Control and manage kitchen budget, including food costs and labor expenses.
- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising food quality.
- Work closely with management to analyze financial reports and make data-driven decisions.
- Staff Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions for kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the kitchen team.
- Identify opportunities for skill enhancement and provide constructive feedback.
- Recruitment and Staffing:
- Assist in the recruitment process by participating in interviews and evaluating potential candidates.
- Collaborate with management to ensure adequate staffing levels and a balanced skill set in the kitchen.
- Contribute to the development of job descriptions and performance standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to train, motivate, and mentor kitchen staff.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
