Job description

Executive Assistant

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

Purpose . You'll be doing rewarding work that supports and empowers girls.

Community . Be a part of an amazing team (staff and supporters!) who are passionate about our mission.

Work you'll love . A creative and collaborative environment where we value your unique skills and insights.

Our impact is growing . VOW for Girls believes that celebrations of love can change the world, and you can be part of the growing team making that happen.

Totally remote - work from anywhere in the United States.

WHO WE ARE
VOW for Girls believes that celebrations of love - weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and more - can be a catalyst for supporting girls whose futures, educations, and choices are at risk. This year alone, more than 12 million girls are at risk of child marriage, threatening their ability to own their futures. We invite individuals, couples, event professionals, brand leaders, and others to invest in the power, voice, and choice of girls everywhere. In doing so, we're bringing much-needed funding and resources to effective yet underfunded community programs around the world that are in need of investment to engage young girls, helping them to stay in school, avoid child marriage, and have opportunities to thrive. VOW for Girls was founded in late 2018 by global human rights activist Mabel van Oranje and Ford Foundation President Darren Walker.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a fast-paced, cross-functional, high-impact, problem-solving role. The Executive Assistant is the right hand to the CEO, acting to enhance their capacity, drive strategic alignment, and execute key organizational priorities. The Executive Assistant will help the CEO operate better, faster, and with more insight across the entire organization. The scope of work is dynamic, and the ideal candidate is a business "athlete" who is agile in their thinking and actions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CEO Support & Relationship Management
-- Partner with the CEO in vetting and pursuing external opportunities and inquiries, often acting as the liaison to provide effective communication flow. You'll help the CEO align their time in a way that helps drive the organization's priorities.
-- Track and cultivate relationships with various VOW VIPs, from board members and advisors to influencers and donors.
-- Help in the preparation for and production of meetings and events in which the CEO is participating, including logistical arrangements when needed. You'll help prepare the CEO by performing background research and helping to plan and ensure the appropriate follow-up to the CEO's internal and external meetings, including drafting correspondence.
-- Work with the CEO to manage his digital presence and serve as a researcher, writing collaborator, and thought partner on proposals, event plans, speeches, and other opportunities for VOW's leadership to show up publicly.
-- Partner with the CEO on organization-wide initiatives that impact the wider VOW team, such as team member engagement and the planning of quarterly staff gatherings.
-- Be the eyes and ears for the CEO: reduce distractions and elevate critical issues.

Enhance Capacity
-- Create frameworks that organize and prioritize critical issues and information, in order to facilitate efficient decision making.
-- Look for opportunities for process improvement, innovation, or new ways to tackle old problems. Partner with department leads to improve their systems and structures.

Maximize Board of Directors and Advisory Council
-- Partner with the CEO on an intentional plan for communication and partnership with the Board of Directors, including playing a central role in the planning for and production of board meetings. Manage the production of board materials in partnership with the Board Chair, CEO and other senior leaders.
-- Manage the VOW for Girls Advisory Council, including the communications cadence and meetings, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for members.
