Exceptional Children's Lead Teacher Assistant

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Exempt Position; Full-time; 10-month position per school year

QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of at least two years of higher education or completion of an associate's degree, required. NC Educator License in Special Education: General Curriculum and/or Adapted Curriculum preferred; successful experience in working with students on behavior management preferred.

DUTIES: Modification of the school curriculum to accommodate the learning style of the student; provide support with academic goals and individualized education plans; some lifting involved; assistance with custodial needs required. Responsible for instructional program; provide special education services for students with disabilities; maintain exceptional children student records to meet local/state requirements and federal mandates of IDEA; normal duties of a classroom teacher and other duties assigned by principal and/or superintendent.
