The Scandinavian Cultural Center & Library seeks a part-time Events Assistant. The candidate will work closely with the Executive Director during the process of planning, promoting and executing a calendar of programming that supports our mission of celebrate the rich tapestry of Nordic arts, culture, and literature in the region.
Being Scandinavian/Nordic is not a requirement, but a strong interest in the culture is a must.
16-20 hours weekly. Must be available to work some Saturday afternoons (3 hour shifts) and occasional evenings. Fewer hours likely during July and August.
- Self-starter, curious, and creative
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Event experience
- Social media management experience
- Donor management experience not necessary, but a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting of boxes
- Setting up of chairs for events and restacking
- Moving of tables
- Some longer periods of standing or walking
