Event Manager

OVERVIEW

RCFRE LLC dba raisingcapital.com is a Los Angeles-based real estate education business on a mission to empower real estate entrepreneurs to achieve the portfolio size of their dreams by supercharging their ability to raise capital.

Our Event Manager will be a key member of our growing team, managing and executing our event strategy alongside our founder Hunter Thompson.

In addition to his background in real estate investing running the private equity firm Asym Capital, Hunter has a significant background in the online marketing space - he won the prestigious Two Comma Club Award from ClickFunnels in just 9 months after launching. He is also a member of Russell Brunson’s Inner Circle, is author of the book Raising Capital for Real Estate, and hosts one of the highest rated commercial real estate podcasts, Cash Flow Connections.

This role offers the opportunity to own and manage our marketing events including both our hosted and sponsored events. You’ll oversee our 3 annual in-person events: RaiseFest (500+ attendees), Mastermind in Paradise (50+ attendees), and RaiseMasters Retreat (200+ attendees) along with our 4 annual virtual summits. You’ll also be responsible for driving demand through our 2-3 sponsored events per year (ex. Best Ever Conference).

Check out the from our most recent retreat to see what types of events you’ll be putting on!

We have accomplished some exciting things, but we are a small team, and you’ll need an entrepreneurial attitude to succeed at our company. Though the focus of the role is to manage our event marketing initiatives in partnership with Hunter and our third-party agencies and contractors, you will need to be able to flow seamlessly between thinking big picture (strategy) and rolling up your sleeves (execution).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT – Determine weekly meeting schedule and meeting recaps. For each of your projects, create and manage a project timeline / workback plan with plenty of runway, and keep the timeline updated throughout the process, taking note of dependencies, and ensuring all deadlines are met. Responsible for scheduling all company events on company shared calendar.
  • BUDGET MANAGEMENT – Create and manage a detailed line itemized budget throughout the planning stages for each of our events. Keep track of all final contracts and receipts inside of company GDrive per event.
  • EVENT PROMOTION – Oversight and general management of all Live & Virtual Events (including webinars and virtual challenges). Work with Hunter and our Marketing Manager to develop, manage, and execute promotional plans for our various events throughout the year. This includes email marketing, social media marketing, speaker/sponsor/affiliate marketing, and paid ads.
  • REGISTRATION & ATTENDEE MANAGEMENT – Create and manage attendee nurture plans for each of our events pre/during/post. This includes owning our registration and ticket sales process, creating the FAQs for each event, and helping answer any attendee questions related that may arise.
  • CONTENT MANAGEMENT – Work with Hunter to create an agenda and content strategy for each of our events, and project manage the content development process. Work with our internal Virtual Assistant to create and implement a speaker management process where applicable – you collectively create the process, and our VA will execute, while you ensure things stay on track and that the content that is submitted is top notch. This includes participating in reviewing creative/copy for all events (emails, social posts, videos, production, website) and ensuring that all event websites are up-to-date and have correct information (dates, pricing, location, registration information etc).
  • CREATIVE MANAGEMENT – Work with our Graphic Designer to create a theme and creative look & feel for each of our events, and manage the creative production process throughout event planning i.e. put in creative requests, and manage revisions and approvals. This includes managing proof approvals for all signage, print items and swag.
  • VENDOR MANAGEMENT – Build and maintain relationships with A-list celebrities, talent agencies, entertainment companies and high-level executives/owners — constantly scouting and advising on new opportunities. Source, negotiate, and manage all event-related vendors for our hosted events. This includes venues, room blocks, food & beverage, audio-visual, experiential (fun stuff like chalk walls, entertainment, etc), furniture, signage, printouts, décor, awards, staffing, security, COIs, videography, photography, name badges, and of course… swag! For our sponsored events, this includes booth orders, scanner rentals, collateral, shipping, etc.
  • ON SITE MANAGEMENT – Create and manage an on-site production schedule for each of our events, and implement on the day to ensure smooth operation. This includes staffing, security and managing any roles on the day with our internal team (ex. speaker wranglers, registration staff, human arrows) or hiring external staffing where necessary (ex. security, additional registration staff, etc.).
