The Wilmette Theatre looks to enhance the movie going experience, as well as engage the community with live performances, events, private parties, and much more.
We provide a safe, comfortable and friendly environment for all.
The Wilmette Theatre was established in 1913 as a single-screen movie theatre. In 1989 the theatre was divided into two spaces allowing for the opportunity to offer more showings. The Theatre has played host to many fabulous movies and film festivals over the years and is excited to continue the tradition.
A more recent renovation occurred and the older seats in the Mirza Theatre, were replaced with more comfortable rocking seats. The second theatre was converted to a "Living Room" with flexible seating made up of cozy love seats and arm-chairs. The Living Room also features a large stage and an updated, state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. The Theatre hosts many live events including musical performances, comedy, private parties, and so much more.
As a Non For Profit space, the Wilmette Theatre is funded by grants, donations, and visits from our lovely patrons.
