The Hampton Virginia Aquaplex is currently accepting applications for Event Administrator and Timing System Operator. The Event Administrator and Timing System Operator (EA/TSO) is responsible for managing the data of the swim meets and/or competitions and entering it into the meet management system. Additionally, this position tests, troubleshoots, and operates the Timing System. The EA/TSO will also operate the scoreboard during the event. Most events take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; occasional weekday availability may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Operate the electronic scoreboard
- Use Hytek Meet Manager software
- Operate Colorado Timing System (CTS)
- Test and troubleshoot the CTS
- Perform preventative and restorative maintenance to the CTS
Requirements
Experience with Colorado Timing System - Generation 6 (required), Generation 7 (preferred)
- Experience with swim meet management software - Hytek preferred
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a high-humidity, indoor pool environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience: Proficiency with swim meet management and Timing Systems; Hytek and Colorado Timing System Gen 7 perferred
Language Skills: Ability to communicate services and activities offered in English. Other language skills are desirable.
Mathematical Skills: Calculate job-related numerical problems with or without technology (computer programs, calculators, etc.)
Computer Skills: Use of a windows-based workstation with swim meet management and Timing software installed is required. Experience operating all functions of an electronic scoreboard is preferred.
