Registered Nurse/Operating Room

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:30)
Description:
Profession: OR RN (proficient in all specialties, particularly ortho, breast/plastics, urology, GYN, and general)
Unit: Outpatient Pavilion
Schedule: 5, 8Hr 07:00 - 15:30 (no weekends; no call; no holidays)
Float: Could float to the main VHC OR if the census is low at the pavilion.
Duration: 13-weeks
Types of cases: Surgical Services: General, GYN, Breast/Plastics, Urology, Ortho, Podiatry
REQUIREMENTS:
" Certs: BLS and VA license. (ACLS and CNOR preferred)
" 2 years of OR RN experience
" Surgery case experience: Endo/laparo, general, gyn, Ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, urology
" General Surgery experience: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy
" Gynecology Surgery experience: Abdominal/ Vaginal hysterectomy, Bilateral tubal ligation, Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures
" Orthopedic experience: Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction, Arthroscopy, Carpal tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures
" Plastic experience: Breast augmentation
" Podiatry experience: Bunionectomy
" Urology experience: Circumcision, Cystoscopy, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Transurethral resection of the prostate
" Equipment/ instrumentation/supplies Experience: Electrosurgical units , Fiber optic light sources/cords, Steris
" Circulate

*Charge experience preferred.
