Evening CustodianJob Overview The Peoples Church is looking for a reliable, self-directed person to work as our Evening Custodian. Most evening custodial duties are routine in nature but there are variations due to different events at the church. Most work is standardized, in instances where it is not, the employee looks to the Facility Director or fellow maintenance employees for guidance. Normally the sequence of steps to be followed is within the discretion of the incumbent unless the supervisor directs otherwise. Responsibilities and Duties
- Empty trash in classrooms, offices, hallways and bathrooms.
- Vacuum classrooms, offices and other areas within the school.
- Wash and dry mop classrooms, hallway floors, bathrooms, offices and other public
- areas.
- Sweeps floors and stairways.
- Wash windows and glass doors.
- Dust pictures and shelves in hallways, classrooms and offices.
- Stock bathrooms with necessary supplies and paper goods.
- Secure and lock buildings at the end of business day.
- Set up (and take down) tables and chairs for events as scheduled/
- Attend in service training for custodial service employees as required for continued employment.
- Notify Facility Director of any necessary equipment repairs or replacements.
- Snow clearing on walkways and putting out snow melt when necessary.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Facility Director.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in custodial/maintenance work is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
- Physical: Lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, grabbing, sitting.
- Equipment Used: General cleaning tools, floor machines, carpet cleaners, vacuums.
- Work Environment: Church and preschool building and grounds.
Evening Custodial Shift: 25 hours a week, 5 hour shifts Monday-Friday - occasionally weekends.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Custodial Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
