Counter Team Members

Job Summary:
We are looking for Counter Team Members for our cafe in Medford, just outside of Tuft's University. Our front-of-house Team Members welcome and care for guests in our cafe. Counter Team Members will have a working knowledge of all cafe items, delivering delicious savory dishes and pastries, operating the point-of-sale register, and keeping a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly and efficient service
- Take customer orders accurately and enter them into the POS system
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to company standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, kitchen, and restroom facilities
- Handle cash transactions and operate cash registers
- Assist with bussing tables and ensuring tables are clean and ready for the next guest
- Follow all food safety and handling procedures
- Upsell menu items and promote special offers to customers
- Collaborate with Team Members to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or the food industry is preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of the Square POS system is a plus
- Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food-handling procedures

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
