Estimator Trainee - Metal Fabrication

OBJECTIVE:

Kallibrated Metals is looking for a detail-oriented Metal FabricationEstimator Trainee to join our team. With our long-time estimator officially retiring, this position is a rare opportunity! The ideal candidate will look to leverage their expertise in Metal Fabrication to provide accurate cost estimates and will play a pivotal role in securing successful projects. SUMMARY:

• Hours: Monday-Friday | 8-hour days

• Flexible start time (Between 6:00-8:00am)

• Prior Metal Fabrication and blueprint reading experience preferred

• Willing to train experienced machine operators, production managers, programmers, drafters, etc. for this position

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Examine customer supplied blueprints and other relevant information to understand scope of each project
• Provide detailed and accurate cost estimates by analyzing material and labor requirements
• Request quotes for raw materials and outsourced operations as needed to ensure accurate job costing and lead times
• Analyze customer blueprints, work instructions, and additional info to verify that the project aligns with our capabilities, tooling, and meets the quality requirements specified by the customer.
• Review and analyze job costs and profit targets, and adjust pricing models as necessary
• Communicate effectively with customers, management, and all office/manufacturing team members

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Skilled in blueprint reading
• Knowledge of Metal Fabrication and manufacturing processes
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Comfortable working on computer
• Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret blueprints, job requirements, and part specifications
• Must be able to work both independently and within a team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Detail-orientated, self-motivated, with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to input and organize data
