Hours: Four week Nature Play Preschool program and Nature Play Area Playtimes [ECFE]; July 10, 2023 - August 3, 2023.
Monday and Wednesday-4.5 hours/day [Preschool and Playtime] and Tuesday and Thursday- 3 hours/day [Preschool], total 15 hours/week.
General Purpose of Job: Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks, working directly and indirectly with students to provide a supervised safe and caring environment for young children. These tasks will constitute the major portion of the Educational Support Professional time.

Responsibilities:
- Support summer Nature Play Area Preschool (3-5 year olds) classes and Nature Play Area parent/child playtimes (0-8 years old). Classes will be held outdoors in the Nature Play Area at Arbor View Early Childhood Center; rain or shine. Classes will move indoors if there is severe weather.
- Assist the children's teacher in carrying out daily program by arranging equipment and materials, preparing materials, maintaining supplies and participating in various activities.
- Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic, motor, and social skills, e.g., math, science, literacy, decision making, self-esteem building, etc.
- Maintain a safe, clean and pleasant environment.
- Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art, physical education, dramatics.
- Observe children to prevent safety/health hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by coordinator
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate ability to work with young children.
- Experience working with diverse student population
- Experience working with families from low socio-economic background
