QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • BA in Education or other related field
  • Completed or pursuing coursework leading to a school administration license
  • Three years successful teaching or other relevant Early Childhoodl experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Dean position is a one-year assignment which provides practical experience in school administration duties under the supervision of a licensed Director for candidates who have completed, or are in the process of completing, their administrative licensure with the goal of preparing promising school leaders for assistant Director positions in our district. The supervising Director will ensure that the Administrative Dean is exposed to the full range of leadership opportunities reflected in the administrative role. Successful candidates may be continued from year-to-year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
These positions are intended to provide professional level school administrative experience. Duties are to be performed under the immediate supervision of the Director. Examples of duties than may be performed include:
  • Assist the Director with providing leadership for the school/program, including creating an inclusive learning environment in the school and maintaining and enhancing the focus of the school
  • Assist the Director with developing and establishing the curriculum
  • Assist the Director in responding to student needs including managing behavior referrals, coordinating behavior response team, outreach to parents, and other critical incident response
  • Serve as an academic advisor to students
  • Serve as a positive role model for students and staff
  • Assist with the interviewing and selection of school/program staff
  • Assist with the supervision and evaluation of non-licensed school staff
  • Serve as a liaison for the school on committees, task forces, and/or community groups
  • Assist with developing and preparing school reports for submission to administration
  • Assist with supervision of bused students; coordinate the bus safety program
  • Assist the Director with developing goals for the school and developing objectives for the school staff in accordance with school policy and procedures
  • Perform the breadth of leadership responsibilities inclusive of the Minnesota State Administrative Competencies
  • Contribute to the District's Strategic Plan efforts by partnering with other staff to contribute to student achievement and the alignment and sustainability of resources
  • Other duties as assigned
