Salary Pay Range: $110,000-$125,000 annually (plus a discretionary annual bonus in late February/early March)
Position Summary:
We are actively seeking an accomplished Sellside Equity Research Analyst.
The ideal candidate will cover several industries for Small Cap and Micro Cap stocks.
The ideal candidate will already have FINRA licenses SIE, 63, 86 and 87.
The Equity Research Analyst will serve as a Generalist covering and evaluating companies across assigned sectors (healthcare, technology, industrial, energy, materials, consumer, etc.).
The Equity Research Analyst will conduct primary research, inclusive of financial analysis, due diligence on industry trends, company management and strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop robust financial models tailored to specific client needs, ensuring accuracy and relevance in analysis, company updates, and recommendations.
- Execute in-depth industry and company-specific research to enhance the quality of research reports, fostering productive relationships with company management and industry stakeholders.
- Multiple sectors coverage, support of authoring the initiation of coverage launch reports and quarterly earnings results reports.
- Written research reports and in-depth initiation reports, which demonstrate a deep understanding of the company’s fundamentals, financial position and potential growth opportunities.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on publicly traded companies, including meticulous examination of financial statements, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Building and maintaining financial models for investment recommendations and report publication.
- Proactively monitor market news and events affecting covered companies, including macroeconomic shifts, regulatory updates, and industry advancements to ensure informed investment decisions.
- Co-Publish concise and informative research reports and materials that effectively communicate investment recommendations to clients and stakeholders, demonstrating clarity and persuasiveness in presentation.
- Engage with company management executives and industry experts to glean additional insights and perspectives, contributing to a holistic understanding of investment opportunities.
- Develop insightful questions to ask management teams and contribute to ratings and price target methodologies.
- Interact with clients in formal emails and phone calls.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the Equity Research team.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree; CFA charter is not required and a plus
- Required FINA Licenses: Series SIE, Series 63, Series 86 and 87
- Required Experience, Skills, and/or Knowledge:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Equity Research professional
- Experience in building financial models and proficiency with accounting and financial statement analysis and strong writing skills required. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated and hard-working individual.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis and modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in financial modeling with Excel, and other financial databases.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to conduct research and analyze data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task for several projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to Equity Research, including SEC regulations.
WORKPLACE LOCATION
- Our team operates out of our beautiful offices at 590 Madison Avenue in New York City.
- This role requires daily presence in the office, as well as occasionally travel to companies under coverage or for new launch consideration, or to visit client offices for meetings, events, etc.
- Expected travel outside of New York City is expected to be less than 15 days annually.
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS
- Requires some flexibility in scheduling, such as the ability to work evenings during quarterly earning season results and conference calls. Plus the occasional quarterly weekend.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires ability to travel locally by car/public transportation, as well as regular domestic trips involving air travel for multi-night stays, and occasional international trips.
