Description:

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in seeking a full-time Equipment Installation Design Engineer for the Integrated Fighter Group (IFG) in Fort Worth, Texas.

What You Will Be Doing


A successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft equipment and systems Installation Design problems. Responsibilities for this position may include:
  • Design the installation of aircraft Equipment and Crew Station hardware of Line Replacement Units (LRUs), Control Panels, other cockpit systems (displays, radios, etc) and their supporting hardware
- Conduct trade studies and evaluate alternatives - optimizing form, fit, and function of the Equipment Installations
  • Define, develop, and finalize equipment layouts and systems and harness interfaces
  • Create Build-to-Packages for detailed parts, assemblies, and installations
  • Coordinate with other technical disciplines for optimized integration at the aircraft level (producibility, maintainability, tooling, interchangeability, materials & processes, stress, etc.)

You are a multi-faceted teammate able to communicate and function effectively on an engineering team to create a collaborative and inclusive environment that allows for the establishment of mission goals. You have experience with itemized planning and prioritization of tasks that drives the efficient execution of objectives. The successful candidate will have experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or related degree.
  • Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool
  • Experience creating and/or modifying drawings

Desired Skills:


  • Experience with aircraft Equipment Installation Design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5
  • Experience with metallic design
  • Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Security Clearance Statement:

Ability to Work Remotely:

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
