Form of workIn concert with the Logistics Manager,plans the Division's logistical operations to ensure support of the State's Emergency Operations Plan and disaster specific appendices. Ensures State logistics plans seamlessly integrate with local plans. Develops ad hoc logistics plans as required and participates with Division's Preparedness Section in planning initiatives when logistics input is needed. Monitors Palmetto EOC (System of Record for Logistics) for fulfillment of resource requests and coordinates logistics support during incident response, day or night, and non-emergency operations at SCEMD's Warehouse and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Stockpile site. Leads the State's Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) Program, serves as a Designated Contact (DC), and ensures appropriate staff are trained and able to fill the role of an assisting state EMAC Advance Team, as well as integrate out-of-state EMAC teams supporting South Carolina. Supports the Logistics Section during training and exercises. As required, serves in the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) during emergencies and fulfills role as the Supply Unit leader. Coordinates annual delivery of forklift training and assists in implementation of the SCEMD badging program.A bachelor's degree and mastery of theoretical methods of emergency/crisis management, with emphasis on the dynamics of logistics, plan development, training and exercise development and execution and emergency operations. Working experience in the emergency management field or a comparable emergency response discipline.S.C. Certified Emergency Manager credentials are preferred.Must possess knowledge of the plans and functions of emergency management at local, state and national levels. Must have an understanding of logistical operations in support of incident response and emergency operation center functions. Must have the ability to assemble and analyze facts related to logistical operations. Must have knowledge of the supply/procurement chain and warehouse operations. Must have a working knowledge of the EMAC program. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with local and state organizations involved in emergency management or response. Must have the ability to conduct conferences, briefings, and training sessions and group discussions. This position involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force routinely to move objects. Ability to work around others while driving, sitting, standing, stooping, twisting, squatting, and crawling regularly.
