AEG is looking for a full-time asbestos and mold inspector. The position will involve performing asbestos and mold inspections and asbestos abatement oversight/air monitoring within state and federal facilities and commercial facilities such as apartment communities and high-rise buildings.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform asbestos inspections following local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collect asbestos samples, take photographs, complete chain-of-custody forms, and prepare sample location drawings.
- Prepare comprehensive asbestos survey reports.
- Perform asbestos abatement contractor oversight following local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform on-site air monitoring activities using both high and low volume pumps.
- Analyze PCM air monitoring cassettes on-site using a microscope.
- Conduct visual clearance activities within a regulated area.
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass an annual physical.
- Perform mold assessments following local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform bioaerosol and surface sampling techniques for mold and bacteria.
- Identify potential sources of water intrusion.
- Ability to perform moisture mapping using a moisture meter and IR camera.
- Prepare a sample location and area of impact drawing.
- Prepare a comprehensive mold assessment report.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, state inspectors and company managers.
- Ability to travel within and out-of-state for up to 1-2 week at a time.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma, Required
- 1+ years’ Environmental Technician work experience, preferred
- TDSHS Asbestos Inspector License
- TDSHS Asbestos Project Manager License
- TDSHS Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician License
- TDLR Mold Assessment Technician License
- TDLR Mold Assessment Consultant License, preferred
- NIOSH 582 Microscopy Certification
- IICRC WTR, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in sciences, Engineering, Public Health, or an Environmental discipline, preferred.
- Lead-based Paint Inspection/Risk Assessment certification, preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), preferred
- Knowledgeable in Salesforce & Microsoft Teams, preferred.
