Summary:
The ideal candidate ensures an environment that complies with Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as corporate guidelines. He/she develops, implements and maintains procedures, audit & inspection records, programs & activities for environmental compliance in multi-state facilities, while minimizing environmental risks and assuring a quality work environment for employees and the community. This individual may be required to lead or supervise others.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements programs and policies for monitoring and preventing environmental non-compliance issues at assigned facilities.
- Directs investigation of all environmental concerns and completion and implementation of corrective (environmental) action plans.
- Surveys, compiles and analyzes data relating to environmental issues. Prioritizes situations most critical and drives correcting/improving areas of concern within the facilities.
- Supports develops, designs, and implements environmental training for all employees in the facilities for which he/she has responsibility.=
- Responsible for maintaining master records and submitting environmental reports to, among others, governmental agencies, and ensuring accuracy and compliance for inspections and audits.
- Establishes effective working relationships with the management staff in order to become part of management team in each facility.
- Ensures that the Company’s environmental principles, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.
- Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry, government regulations and benchmarks data with environmental issues.
- Determines needed environmental training and either conducts or contracts outside services to do so.
- Determines needed environmental testing and conducts or contracts outside services to conduct. Analyzes results and heads up decision-making team relative to appropriate action in any cases where test results are abnormal.

Experience

Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better in Environmental Studies or related field
