Job Summary

Supports the Environmental Health and Safety Management System. Coordinates investigations, provides training, manages projects and maintains records. Provide support and coordination regarding compliance requirements. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Institute management, faculty and staff, and representatives of regulatory agencies. This position typically will advise and counsel: Institute management, faculty and staff. This position will supervise: N/A

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Supports the creation, implementation and management of the Environmental Health and Safety Management System.
Job Duty 2 -
Assist with coordinating environmental compliance programs.
Job Duty 3 -
Oversee and coordinate asbestos abatement projects, including managing contracts and maintaining records.
Job Duty 4 -
Assist with coordinating environmental investigations, including asbestos, lead based paint, mold and water quality.
Job Duty 5 -
Conduct training and technical outreach as appropriate.
Job Duty 6 -
Maintain and manage detailed environmental records.
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
The job requires one who is task and detail toiourted; flexible, and able to perftom multiple, various tasks concurrourtly. Excellourt communications skills are required as well as the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that are varied l nature.
Required Experience
Three to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Public Health or related field
Preferred Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires experience with environmental permitting and regulatory agencies. An understanding of Environmental Program systems, compliance monitoring tools and familiarity with reporting processes. Must be able to understand environmental recordkeeping regarding construction, demolition, and renovation projects. Must be able to work cooperatively, manage projects and be willing to create and conduct training seminars.

Job Grade: S7

Salary Range $70,061.00 - $95,283.00

Due to the responsibilities of this position, this role requires an onsite presence on Georgia Tech¿s Atlanta campus (100%).
