Job Description
This global manufacturer with a plant located in Lansing Mi area is seeking an EH&S Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring the day to day compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to OSHA. This includes all items safety and environmental related. Includes the administration and continual improvement to the health, safety and environmental process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Directs implementation of company safety program, to include developing safety methods, procedures and policies based on company guidelines. Monitors audit for company metrics analysis and improvement system.
2. Manage the Drive system requirements and implement solutions to achieve global expectations.
3. Monitors facility and processes for adherence to OSHA guidelines.
4. Identifies and evaluates environmental and safety hazards, recommends corrective action as necessary.
5. Performs job analysis and measures and evaluates effectiveness of safety policies, makes needed modifications.
6. Leads the organization of the emergency response team (ERT) safety committee. Subject matter expert for safety and/or environmental training.
7. Supervises worker’s compensation record keeping and responds to employee accidents with treatment, follow up, and internal reporting.
8. Provides root cause analysis and accident investigation for worker’s compensation
9. Initiates action to prevent accidents both machinery and behavior.
10. Initiates, performs, and oversees all aspects of safety and environmental training and documentation.
11. Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule as subject matter expert
12. Lead ISO 14001 environmental implementation and participate in the Internal ISO/TS 16949 Audit schedule (applies only to certified ISO/TS 16949 internal auditors), VDA 6.3, and customer standards (?).
13. Performs other assigned duties as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. BS degree in occupational health and safety engineering, engineering or related field or combination of job related work experience and education/certifications.
2. 5-7 years experience in safety in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
3. OSHA 30 Hour General Industry
4. Audit safety programs and Lean safety metrics preferred.
5. Supervision experience of EHS staff preferred.
