Kinetic has collaborated with a thriving aerospace company with locations in Lake Orion and Macomb, MI presenting an exciting direct-hire opportunity. Our client is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead the environmental, health, and safety programs for their manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery, implementation, and administration of both site-specific and corporate EHS policies, procedures, and best practices while maintaining compliance with MIOSHA standards and regulations.
Pay: $90,000 - $120,000 Annually D.O.E
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Leadership in EH&S: Develop, implement, and manage EH&S policies, procedures, programs, and practices.
· Manage and coordinate various EH&S aspects, revitalizing the emphasis on EH&S approaches.
· Policy and Program Management: Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with corporate EH&S policies.
· Monitor changes in legislation to ensure organizational compliance with all Federal, State, and local EHS requirements.
· Safety Management: Support day-to-day safety management activities, providing guidance and oversight of safe work practices.
· Oversee facilities in Macomb Township and Lake Orion, MI, and provide support for a small office in West Seneca, NY.
· Performance Monitoring: Create, prepare, and maintain monthly Health & Safety KPIs.
· Administer a formal inspection process, focusing on unsafe conditions and acts. Review incident trends and adjust programs accordingly.
· Training and Awareness:
· Develop and continuously improve safety training programs, ensuring relevance to EH&S initiatives.
· Work with all departments to increase safety awareness and drive cultural changes supporting a safety-first culture.
· Worker's Comp and Investigations: Manage Worker's Comp case management, investigation, follow-up, and back-to-work processes.
· Conduct Safety Orientation with all newly hired employees.
· Oversee accident and near-miss investigations and recordkeeping.
· Data Analysis and Trends:Evaluate and analyze injury trends and implement programs and processes based on available data.
· Evaluate root causes of injuries and near misses to address the reasons incidents occur.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s in occupational Health & Safety or closely related field, or related experience required.
· 5 or more years of EHS discipline work experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and local EHS regulatory and other requirements.
· Analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking abilities.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
· Detail-oriented with a logical and methodological approach to problem-solving.
· Strong interpersonal skills and effective speaking and listening abilities.
· High levels of professionalism and ethical conduct with a regard for confidential information.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Proficient in PC/MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Must meet Export Control Compliance requirements (U.S. Person).
· Experience managing multiple sites is a plus.
