The EH&S Manager position will lead Streetsboro, Ohio Safety and Environmental initiatives to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement of safety and environmental metrics. Including but not limited to:
· Injury reduction
· Focus on Hazard Reduction and Improved Safety Behaviors
· Compliance to all EH&S regulations
· Transition to leading indicator versus lagging
· Integration of EH&S in all processes
· Total associate involvement and ownership at all levels
· Implement visual daily management
This role reports to the VP Human Resources with responsibilities to onsite leadership. Streetsboro is the manufacturing location for SoftLite and part of the Harvey Building Products Corporation. The candidate will be a key contributor, driving safety improvements and playing a pivotal role in assessing EH&S tools and processes to be launched across the organization.
Preferred candidates are bilingual (English/Spanish) with a strong aptitude for problem solving, lean or continuous improvement background and dynamic skills in building trust through the engagement of the workforce.
The focus of this role is to reduce recordable injuries and to continuously improve the Safety Culture for SoftLite. Implement health & safety tools and processes to manage business and facilitate improvement at all levels.
· The EH&S Manager will work directly with the VP Operations, Operations Director, Value Stream Managers and other Operational leaders, along with Maintenance, Quality, Lean and Process Engineers to drive EH&S improvement for the site.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- 5+ years EH&S field
- 3+ years manufacturing experience in a lean manufacturing principle, preferred but not required
- 3+ years Management experience required
QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS:
- “Go to Gemba” mentality, hands-on
- Excellent Organization skills, including recordkeeping and reporting
- Strong manufacturing/operations background
- Excellent computer skills required
- Strong communication skills, Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Management experience required
- Positive interpersonal and facilitation skills with excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills to properly direct, assist and train personnel is needed
- Proven experience in influencing, leading cross functional teams and driving change results
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results.
- Superior interpersonal skills, delivers information clearly and factually. Capable of adjusting to situation or audience.
