Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Bridge Design to be based in Piscataway, New Jersey .
This position is expected to begin in May 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provides specialized technical input to studies and designs for staff's specific areas of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing the discipline component of the PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree concentration in Structural and/or Bridge Engineering.
EIT/FE Certification or ability to obtain prior to the start date.
Relevant experience as an Intern, Co-op, or other professional development.
Experience or education in reinforced concrete and/or structural steel design.
Ability to work with a diverse team located in Piscataway, NJ.
Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines.
Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
Additional Information
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Piscataway, NJ . The selected candidate must be available to work in Piscataway, NJ on a scheduled basis.
Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
The offered rate of compensation (New Jersey locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $82,000/yr .
