Structural Project Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design and construction of roads, bridges, waterways, sewage treatment plants and other types of infrastructure. Your duties will include using software programs to design structural blueprints, adhering to construction laws and environmental constraints, and visiting construction sites to monitor the building process. This position is also responsible for all aspects of project management. You will lead and manage the design team in the execution of projects.

Responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing survey reports, long-range plans, maps, and other data to design and implement new projects.
• Considering budget, scope, regulations, and environmental hazards during risk-analysis stage.
• Preparing material, equipment and labor cost estimates and confirming costs are within the budget.
• Forecasting design and construction timeline.
• Completing and submitting all permit applications to the appropriate agencies and ensuring projects are compliant throughout the design and construction stages.
• Using design software to create project drawings and renderings.
• Managing repair and maintenance of infrastructure projects.
• Preparation of detailed engineering studies and analysis reports.

• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems to maintain project documents including, but not limited to, CAD, Microsoft Office Suite…. Add others as necessary.
• Knowledge and/or proficiency in BIM Technologies (REVIT).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Designation preferred.
• 4-5 years of experience in instructural design for commercial, residential and mixed-use projects.
• Experience in a construction or engineering office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
