We are seeking a Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative to join our growing insurance company located just one mile south of Midway Airport!
No insurance experience? No problem. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who has prior Customer Service experience to begin their insurance career. We will provide you with the training and tools to be successful in this role. The Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative will work independently and collaboratively with the Commercial Underwriting team to provide a high level of Customer Service to agents and policyholders. The scope of the position includes assisting in the development of new and maintaining existing relationships with our agency force; and ensuring compliance with state mandated handling guidelines. This position assists the Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants in their overall day-to-day operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a high level of Customer Service by delivering timely responses to agents / policyholders on quotes, endorsements, renewals, and billing questions.
- Develop a basic understanding of coverages, exposures, rating plans, billing and state requirements.
- Handle underwriting reports daily.
- Order MVR and Loss Experience reports and assimilate information as required to support the underwriting process.
- Scanning and filing documents to ImageRight Platform and Account folders.
- Assist the Underwriting Unit as required for new business, endorsement, and renewal processes.
- Work on special projects as directed by the VP of Commercial Lines Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Prior Customer Service experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed Property and Casualty Agent.
- Good typing/data entry skills (min. 30 wpm). Phone Skills
- Excellent Phone Skills
- Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and working knowledge of Power Point.
Preferred:
- Prior insurance experience, a plus, but not required.
- College degree or related industry experience.
- Property and Casualty Agency license.
