JOB DESCRIPTION
Office of the Chief Risk Officer
The Office of the Chief Risk Officer ("Risk") is comprised of all major second line risk functions and departments of the Bank that are responsible for demonstrating and promoting a firm-wide culture of regulatory compliance and comprehensive risk management. Led by the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), and Deputy Chief Risk Officer (DCRO), the Risk organization holds a prominent "seat at the table" and is intimately involved with assessing and mitigating risks across the enterprise.
Independence of the Risk organization is affirmed by the CRO's dual reporting lines directly to the Chair of the Board of Directors' Risk Assessment Committee and the Bank's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Risk leaders and staff actively participate on all key Board and management level committees and important workgroups. JOB SUMMARY
The Enterprise Data Quality Rules Analyst is the primary business SME and user of Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) with responsibility for, but not limited to, the creation, testing and ongoing maintenance of the various IDQ business functions such as creating/updating the business rules, mappings, scorecards and profiles. IDQ includes a set of unified, role-based data discovery and profiling tools for quickly identifying critical data problems hidden across the enterprise. The Data Quality Rules Analyst will work closely with the Data Owners, Enterprise Data Governance Stewards (EDGS) and Enterprise Data Quality Assurance Analysts (EDQAA) to maximize the efficiency and use of the Informatica Data Governance suite of tools (IDQ, EDC, Axon). The Data Quality Rules Analyst understands business challenges and offers solutions to streamline Data Quality processes with the use of IDQ.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs various tasks within IDQ including the creation and use of Physical Data Objects, Logical Data Object Models, Mappings/Mapplets, Profiles, Scorecards, Data Domain Discovery and Profiling, etc.
  • Collaborates with Data Owners, EDGS and EDQAA to turn business requirements into functioning Data Quality Rules.
  • Works closely with Data Owners, EDGS and EDQAA to prioritize business requests and address concerns/issues found during testing of new or updated rules.
  • Makes recommendations for system enhancements and upgrades to management.
  • Maintains a business playbook consisting of re-useable business rule assets and known solutions for past performance challenges.
  • Provides recommendations to increase the efficiency and performance of the Informatica Data Governance tools, with an emphasis on IDQ.
  • Collaborates with IT ensuring optimal performance and availability of IDQ and the associated interfaces, establishes and supports connections to new resources, and supports software/hardware upgrades.
  • Schedules or manually runs Data Quality Rules and confirms the results, creates various drill downs and extracts, and performs the associated validations/controls.
  • Recommends and implements additional out of the box IDQ business functionality, as appropriate.
  • Adheres to the established standards and naming conventions for mapplets/mapping, rules, and scorecards, or recommends enhancements as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all corporate policies and processes.
  • Drives Data Quality improvements through the definition and execution of common standards and best practices.
  • Establishes the proper level of controls to mitigate data risks.
  • Performs special projects and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, IT, data analytics, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a Data Quality function in Financial Services Industry or related field, with preference for banking experience
  • One (1) to five (5) years' experience in data profiling Data Quality Rules development -- preferable using the Informatica Data Quality tool (Developer and Analyst)
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • IDQ Professional Certification preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Good knowledge of the banking industry, bank systems/processes and data warehousing methodologies
  • Solid knowledge of Informatica Data Quality standards, guidelines and best practices, or equivalent
  • Understanding of Informatica Power Center Components, Axon and EDC, or equivalent
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to solve more complex problems, make decisions, and apply good business judgment
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple work assignments within an established deadline
