ENROLLMENT SPECIALIST

Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Enrollment Specialist for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Soundview area of the Bronx. As the Enrollment Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, supporting our Early Learning programs. The Enrollment Specialist will provide a crucial service in helping our client and community families get access to 3K and Pre-K for their children. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS, INC.

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. (HFH) is a non-profit social services organization operating family shelters throughout NYC that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. On-site programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events for the whole family.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage eligibility status of children in DOE 3K and Pre-K programs.
• Engage families in the re-certification process and provide assistance in the completion of application materials as required.
• Manage a waitlist of children/families to maximize value of services offered to the communities we serve.
• Create, manage, and execute a family recruitment plan in conjunction with the Director of Early Childhood Education.
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records and associated reporting.
• Provide assistance in classrooms when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree or relevant college credits.
• Familiar with HRA, ACS, DOE, and WES Programs.
• Familiar with the Pre-Kindergarten Integrated Data System (Pre-KIDS) a plus strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in maintaining necessary records/paperwork.
• Able to provide community resources and referrals as needed.
• Sensitivity and awareness while working with homeless and vulnerable populations.
• Bi-lingual preferred.

SALARY:

$33,000
