HIGH SCHOOL LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER:
Eagle Valley High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher with experience as an English teacher. Our core courses include yearlong Language Arts at each grade level (9, 10, 11, 12) with levels for Honors and Intervention classes.
We are always seeking a teachers who would be willing to continue to grow and expand our Advanced Placement and/or Dual Enrollment program. Any teachers with experience teaching the AP Language or AP Literature courses are encouraged to apply. Also, candidates with masters level courses in any English/Language Arts field and the potential to be credentialed with Colorado Mountain College to teach Dual Enrollment courses would recieve strong consideration.
Given the needs of our student population we also highly value candidates with credentials or endorsements as ELA (English Language Acquisition) teachers. We offer several Literacy Intervention and ELA courses for our students and will seek out applicants who can help fill this role as well.
EVHS serves the communities of the western part of Eagle County. We will have a total population of 1000 students next year and compete in 4A athletics as a part of CHSAA. Our demographics include 50% Hispanic, 48% White, and 2% Other ethnic populations. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $50,500 - $69,171 per year
POSITION SALARY RANGE: $50,500 - $118,050 per year
SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
Plans instruction and assessment aligned with District learner outcomes and State achievement standards. Supervises assigned students and maintains a positive learning environment. Adapt instruction to meet the individual learning needs of all students resulting in an increased probability of advancing their achievement. Maintain positive inter-personal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- For applicants applying for a Career/Technical Education positions, must be CTE certified or be willing to gain CTE certification.
- Active teacher authorization or license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Must be “Highly Qualified” according to the Colorado’s definition of a “Highly Qualified” teacher under the No Child Left Behind Act (effective January 1, 2004 for current teachers and 2002-03 for newly hired teachers).
- Endorsement in the area(s) of teaching assignment preferred.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
