Job Summary

A CAD Drawing Engineer, also known as a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Engineer or Drafting Engineer, specializes in creating detailed technical drawings using computer software. Here is an overview of the responsibilities, skills, and qualifications typically associated with the role of a CAD Drawing Engineer.

IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot a variety of IT-related problems.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design Development:

• Use CAD software to create detailed technical drawings based on project specifications and requirements.
• Collaborate with design teams to transform concepts into precise and accurate drawings.

• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and models for products or structures.
• Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards and regulations.

• Generate technical documentation and specifications related to designs.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and versions.

• Work closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to incorporate design changes and address feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design and development process.
• Collaborate with the IT team to implement network solutions, perform system upgrades, and deploy new technologies.

• Identify and resolve design issues and challenges.
• Recommend design modifications to improve functionality and efficiency.

• Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Create and Maintain item material item numbers.

• Provide support to project teams by creating design documentation, technical illustrations, and visual aids.

• Stay updated on the latest CAD software tools and technologies.
• Utilize advanced features of CAD software to enhance design capabilities.
• Resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of engineering and design principles.
• Attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to interpret and work with design specifications.
• Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows and macOS.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.

Education and Experience

• CAD Drawing Engineers may have experience gained through internships, entry-level positions, or academic projects.
• Industry-specific experience, such as in manufacturing, construction, or product design, is often beneficial.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 - 40 pounds at times.
