Disability and Leave services (DLS) manages the employee and the agent user experience and the backend services to ensure Amazon's compliance and adherence to regulations across different countries in the world. Our organization, delivers best-in-class Leave of Absence, Disability and Accommodations services to Amazon employees, applicants, job seekers, and candidates globally.
The DLS Communications team builds and maintains a flexible, configuration driven service that generates complex communications and automates delivery of timely communication to employees.
As an SDE II on our team, you will design and develop on the existing service to create a scalable multi-tenanted communications platform with an exciting roadmap of features. You will be responsible for delivering highly ambiguous and challenging problems at global scale. You will be responsible for front end as well as backend components of the service, conceptualizing, designing, developing, delivering and supporting the software in collaboration with operations and our partner teams. You will influence technical direction, drive operational excellence best practices and maintain quality on team deliverables.
Key job responsibilities
- 3+ years of non-internship professional Software Development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional Software Development experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full Software Development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
