Engineering Lead - Corporate Products

We are seeking an Engineering Lead - Corporate Products who will be responsible for defining solution architecture to include evaluation, selection, and integration of necessary technical components that realize the defined functional, non-functional and security requirements.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs, builds, deploys, and maintains highly resilient and scalable features across Out of the Box brands corporate technology products and ensures the work done by the team is of quality workmanship and consistent with our standards.
Writes software (hands-on development) with a strong emphasis on prototypes, proof of concepts, and technical spikes.
Leads and participates in troubleshooting application incidents, resolves deployment issues, integration failures, mines logs, coordinates cross functional triage, and provides long term implementation guidance.
Leads complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for our stakeholders.
Partners with a wide array of teams across Jack in the Box and Del Taco.
Ensures quality by building automated testing for changes.
Champions DevOps solutions, automating and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines.
Champions being agile over doing agile to uphold the agile software principles.
Ensures team makes solid technical decisions and produces high-quality team output.
Collaborates with product teams on the definition and design of features.
Mentors and coaches other software engineers.
Drives team results and impact across the organizations.
Defines and evangelizes technical solutions and strategies.
Collaborates with third-party vendors to understand their technical offerings and capabilities.
Challenges the status quo and brings experience to look at things differently. Identifies new technologies, strategies and processes that can help provide business value.
Partners with architects across teams to support the evolution of our architecture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, technology or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience- 5+ years experience in Engineering Leadership role(s) with one or more of the following technologies: Java, Kotlin, Node.js, C#, MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS Services, Elasticsearch, React and related frontend development frameworks to build user interfaces, as well as the combined practices of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
5+ years experience developing integrations with third party SaaS applications/platforms
3+ years of experience working in a production support environment including active participation in resolving production issues and providing root cause analyses after the fact
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Demonstrated hands-on experience building backend services, APIs, and scaling distributed systems
Strong leadership experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong communicator who can express engineering tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
A true full stack engineer who owns every part of engineering including design, development, deployment, debugging, monitoring, and support
Experience shipping production services and balancing getting things done with platform stability and reliability
Focused on delivering positive impact for Jack in the Box and Del Taco stakeholders
Motivated to improve the day-to-day lives of fellow engineers
Enjoys working with other engineers in a collaborative and iterative environment
Appreciates simple design
Has a strong Product Thinking/Customer Driven mindset, including for services consumed by internal customers
Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a personal computer.

The range for this position is $137,000 - $195,200 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
