The Engineering Intern will complete a variety of tasks within the Applications and R&D Engineering department. This position will assist with the process of updating and creating Engineering drawings of parts and assemblies used in the manufacturing process in the factory.
Essential Functions
- Work with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to develop a list of part and assembly drawings needing updating
- Ensure that drawings provide all details necessary for factory employees to fabricate components and for customers to install the units
- Work in close cooperation with personnel from R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing
- Perform other duties associated with the process of manufacturing and supplying automatic and manual doors and components, including presenting info, estimating, and managing projects
- Use 3D SolidWorks to model parts and assemblies to create the 2D Engineering drawings.
- Create documentation and drawings with accuracy and speed
- Use appropriate technology, procedures, processes, and systems to consistently deliver results
- Other related tasks as assigned

- At least a sophomore level in college pursuing an Associate degree in Mechanical Design or similar, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar is preferred
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Long periods of sitting and working at a computer are required, with regular exposure to the factory. Sedentary work is performed in an office with little to no exposure to extreme weather or hazardous conditions. Typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop, and phone are used. May be noisy due to proximity to factory. This position requires regular exposure to the factory, which includes extreme weather conditions; noisy, dusty, and dirty environments; and motorized equipment that pose potential safety hazards. Reaching above shoulder height and below the waist, as well as lifting up to 30 lbs. is required. Proper safety procedures, lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment guidelines are always to be followed. This position may require extended hours and overtime depending on business needs.
