Summary
Elephas is a Madison, WI based biotechnology start-up company working to build and instrument platform that will inform how clinicians treat cancer patients around the world. We are seeking an Engineering Intern who is looking to join a group of motivated people driven to providing hope to cancer patients globally.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, be flexible, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This is a great opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a growing company.
What Will You Do?
- Develop, design, and test novel technologies relating to biomedical applications
- Support, maintain, and run automation hardware for biological applications
- Perform research and analysis to support operations
- Develop reports and compelling presentations of findings
- Create and maintain internal documentation and repositories
- Provide support to engineering team
- Identify avenues of improvement and engineering intervention for biological workflow
What Will You Need?
- Be a Junior or Senior working towards a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Detail orientated with strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Great time management and ability to handle multiple initiatives and changing priorities
Nice to Have
- Experience coding mechanical systems in languages such as Python, Labview, Matlab, C++/C#
- Experience designing in computer aided design programs including Solidworks, Creo, AutoCAD Inventor, or equivalent
- Experience and comfort with experimental method and good research practices
