Skyship Services, Inc. is leading the field in Aerostat Capabilities and Aerostat Operations. We are dedicated to support our customer’s mission in Border Security, expanding global infrastructure and threat detection. Skyship Services has an opening for a motivated engineer to join our team and build the next generation Aerostat System. You will work within a dynamic engineering and design team to conceptualize, rapidly prototype, test and implement innovative solutions for the design, fabrication and assembly of Aerostats for Deployment to our Customers. We believe in fast-cycle development and approach to flight hardware development. This unique position allows for hand-on participation through all phases of development.

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, computer or mechanical engineering
· 1-4 years’ experience in a similar role
· Familiarity with lighter-than-air tethered or untethered airborne systems and payloads
· Broad understanding of DoD airborne and ground systems, hardware, software, operations, and their interdependence
· Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models
· Be able to apply scientific principles, tools and techniques to achieve practical end results
· Ability to apply innovative approaches to designing, integrating, testing, and producing complex engineering sensor systems
· Self-starter
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Full Time Minimum Clearance Level of: DoD Secret

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with CAD modeling software such as CREO, NX or SolidWorks
· Experience with mechanical and electrical drawing standards
· Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
· Experience with systems engineering and integration applied to DoD airborne and ground systems.
· Experience with development and production programs through install and deployment of assets to a Customer
· System modeling & simulation and/or system performance analysis
· Test engineering experience, preferably in Aerostat Systems
· System Identification experience
· Familiar with MatLab, C, C++ and/or Python
· Familiar with the dynamics of airships and/or submarines
· Working in an interdisciplinary team and/or international team environment
· Proficient with Version Control and Requirements Tools
Responsibilities
· Design, develop, implement, verify and test of the Aerostat, Avionics, Mooring System and/or Ground System
· Responsible for the design, development and implementation of engineering processes, methods and products
· Develop product design descriptions, requirements and system test documentation, safety analysis reports, and technical analyses against requirements
· Support a system reliability program; gathering and analyzing reliability data and risk mitigation for complex systems
· Define and analyze technical requirements for a broad range of engineering tasks of increased complexity
· Develop engineering designs, implement architecture configuration specifications, and enable modeling, activity diagrams and simulation use cases
· Participate in design reviews and technical interchange meetings to assess and guide development activities performed by development contractors
· Conduct and support internal and customer design reviews
· Generate, modify and upgrade mathematical models to predict design performance
· Use commercial and proprietary simulation tools in developing and evaluating designs
· Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to meet design requirements
· Manage requirements verification and traceability throughout design, development and testing phases
· Perform technical review and assessment of concepts, systems, technologies, designs, architectures, interfaces, and operation of Aerostat systems
· Support production, testing and field operations in improving designs
· Conducts testing, develops prototypes and verify / validate system and component performance to specifications
· Document engineering drawings, engineering standards, engineering specifications, technical proposals, technical manuals, disclosures and scientific discoveries

Pay: $65,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
