Description
The Engineer position plays a vital role in supporting utility project engineers and project managers in planning, engineering, and designing electric distribution projects. Working closely with a PM or Senior Planner, you will conduct site visits, take measurements, and utilize various programs and data centers to ensure compliance with current utility, federal, and state standards.
This position will oversee projects from inception (scope of work) to construction (as-built), with site visits expected in the scenic northern territory of WA state. You will also assist in coordination and communication tasks with other departments under the guidance of a PM or Senior Planner.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Apply various engineering and design methods to ensure quality deliverables for the customer.
- Identify the scope of an assigned project and decide on logical action to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Facilitate communication between service providers and internal/external customers, which may include technical support at the direction of a project manager.
- Respond to customer concerns and work with appropriate parties for resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 0-3 years relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Design or related discipline.
- AutoCAD experience
- Valid driver’s license + reliable vehicle
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience managing multiple projects
- Strong communication skills, strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills for multiple technical areas, critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of utility methods, techniques, and procedures involved in distribution design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Customer & team-oriented, positive and collaborative attitude
All candidates must be within commuting distance of our office in Bellingham, WA. Upon completion of training, there may be an opportunity for some hybrid work.
