What you'll be doing:
To conduct EMR training for new and existing Emergency clinicians, Hospital Medicine clinicians Operations teams and the Documentation Assurance Department. Collaborate with clinicians, compliance, and revenue cycle team members on appropriate medical record documentation to assure accurate reflection of the level of patient care and acuity in support of optimum coding and reimbursement. Create and revise EMR training material. Collaborate with client facility leadership to customize EMR templates and workflows for optimized facility and clinician documentation, coding, and user-interface.
- Advise and counsel facilities, clinicians, and operational teams during EMR go-lives/transitions and formulate real-time solutions to improve workflow within the facility EMR
- Perform onsite evaluation of clinician documentation, templates, order sets, etc. and adjust to improve clinician documentation, and optimize the RVU
- Addresses clinician, facility, and operational EMR complaints/issues, either through manipulating EMR workflow, further education, or adjusting behavior
- Analyze system upgrades, through testing and development of the facility EMR, and suggest solutions to IT EMR hospital build team and/or SCP Health operation management
- Work in conjunction with Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists to identify which clinicians need specialized documentation counseling
- Develop and maintain EMR training course curricula, develop and maintain complete end user guides and tip sheets related to all EMR training
- Analyze system upgrades remotely, conduct system testing and development of documentation and training curricula
- Assist in testing and implementation of EMR upgrades and update training curricula as requested
- Independently manage and conduct clinician training at each EMR go-live or transition
- Manage schedule for and conduct phone/WebEx training and education as questions come in from clinicians
- Present onsite and/or web based EMR and documentation training to clinicians
Who/What we are looking for:
- You can travel up to 75% nationally by commercial airlines and by car to client locations and corporate offices
- You have a knack for building relationships and training diverse Clinicians in a variety of formats; virtual, in-person, by phone, individual and group sessions
- You have a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Information Management, Business Administration or similar field of study
- You have clinical EMR knowledge required with previous medical documentation experience preferred
- You are tech savvy with proficient experience in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
- You have experience training on Electronic Medical Records systems, specifically with Epic required
