Join Our Team as a Youth Support Counselor at Crossroads Programs, Inc.

Crossroads Programs, Inc., an Apis Services, Inc. New Jersey affiliate, invites dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Youth Support Counselors in Mt. Holly, NJ. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for young girls who have experienced trauma or disabilities. We have both full-time, part-time and short hours roles available.

About Mount Holly House:
Our Mount Holly House provides a nurturing space for up to five females aged 14 to 17. Our dedicated team offers 24/7 care, creating a comfortable living environment where young women can thrive and develop. Through a holistic approach, we provide services to encourage growth and empowerment, with a proven track record of building confidence, fostering self-expression, and imparting new skills to our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, overseeing the residential home's operations.
• Provide essential living support, including meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation.
• Develop and implement programs that cater to residents' educational, social, and emotional needs. Mentor and serve as a positive role model, promoting healthy relationships and coping strategies.
• Collaborate with the therapy team to ensure comprehensive care and support.
• Maintain accurate records of resident progress and behavior.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in social work or psychology with one year of experience in direct care for youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting.
• High School diploma holders with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience will also be considered.
• A valid driver's license with a clean standing over the past 6 months is required.
• Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances.
• All new hires are required to successfully complete Safety Crisis Management (SCM) certification within one week of hire.
  • Training Overview:
    - Duration: The SCM program spans three days.
    - Physical Demands: Active participation in physically demanding activities is necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Understands trauma-informed care and has experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma.
• Can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exhibits strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Holds a valid drivers license and the capability to transport residents as needed.
