Job description

The Employee Engagement Assistant supports the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Employee Engagement Division of Human Capital. The Employee Engagement Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: department administrative support, call center, applicant and employee relations, leaves, benefits, compensation, employee credentialing verification and employment processing and record keeping and maintenance.

Essential Functions
  • Performs administrative activities in support of assigned functional areas, (i.e. Certification, Compensation, Benefits, Leaves, Records, Pre-Employment, Front Desk and Call Center).
  • Drafts and prepares correspondence and assists in the development and preparation of reports, schedules, flyers, brochures, videos, power point presentations and other related materials.
  • Handles phone calls, requests and inquiries as deemed appropriate.
  • Processes new hire and employee personnel data changes as instructed.
  • Responds to queries by searching and retrieving files.
  • Performs data entry, and be able to prepare charts, reports, forms and other documents for use throughout department.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Human Capital email box on assigned day(s).
  • Processes sensitive and confidential information. Receives and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Processes, files, & maintains updated new hire and employee personnel data changes as instructed.
  • Keeps abreast of current policies relating to human capital.
  • Develops and maintains expertise through ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Maintains the Human Capital Records room as assigned, to include filing of all incoming paperwork and new hire folders.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies and contractual agreements; follows federal laws, state laws, school board's policies and the professional standards.

Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Human Capital experience preferred.
  • Two years of administrative support experience with demonstrable skills in effectively collecting, compiling, analyzing and assembling data for producing reports.
  • Proficiency in technical computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Publisher, Outlook, and a human capital information system such as Oracle, People Soft, or similar software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other departmental officials, associates and employees.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
