As an Emergency Services Specialist, you will work with a team of staff to oversee and carry out a daily schedule of educational, group, and skill-building activities. Work shifts may include a variety of day, afternoon, evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Candidates must be mature, a team player, and possess good written and computer skills. A desire to make a positive difference for youth and their families is key. Responsibilities include:
- Provide direct supervision of the clients, ensuring their presence and safety.
- Continually model respectful behavior, social skills, appropriate boundaries, and other behavior.
- Effectively manage client group dynamics.
- Plan and facilitate group sessions as scheduled to instruct clients in basic social and life skills, and provide other learning opportunities that are age and developmentally appropriate.
- Provide crisis interventions as needed.
- Document client behavior and other relevant/required information for each shift in daily Client Logs.

Required Education, Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services or related field.
- A valid Iowa driver’s license.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- One year of experience in the management and supervision of adolescents in a residential setting
- Ability to actively learn and listen.
