Hiring Criteria:

Full Time - 32-40 hours per week

Denver Water is seeking a passionate and motivated Emergency Management Intern to join our team. Denver Water's internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply skills gained in an academic setting to challenging projects and meaningful work assignments. Interns will be paired with experienced mentors and will finish their internship with broad experience in various aspects of Emergency Management.
Denver Water Emergency Management works to ensure that the organization is prepared for, mitigates against, responds to, and recovers from natural, human-caused, and technological emergencies and/or disasters that may impact the water system. Denver Water's infrastructure spans over 10 counties and covers two sectors of critical infrastructure, dams and water.With 13-high hazard dams, four treatment plants, and over 3,000 miles of distribution system, the Emergency Management Intern will assist with various projects across the three specialties, training and exercise, planning, and operations.
Internship Project Description:
This intern will join the Emergency Management department and:
- Support the planning and facilitation of workshops, tabletops, and functional exercises
- Develop exercise documents in alignment with Emergency management best practices
- Assist in developing business Continuity/Continuity of Operations program
- Lead project to develop critical stakeholder database for use during emergencies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to perform this intern project:
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Understanding of Incident Command System (ICS) and Emergency Management best practices

During the Summer Intern Program, there are THREE (3) REQUIRED ATTENDANCE EVENTS. All interns must participate.
Intern positions do not come with any benefits other than holiday pay (if worked for more than 20 days prior to the holiday).
