Electrical Engineering Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Efficiently and effectively perform technical tasks and projects in a safe manner ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining high quality throughout. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshooting Analog and Digital Circuit failures down to the component level
• Soldering of SMD and through-hole components to a very high standard
• Electronic assembly/soldering with familiarity to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 requirements preferred, not required
• Familiarity with IPC Class 1 on micro components and surface mounts preferred, not required
• Experience with micro assemblies used on prototype applications
• Ability to read electronic schematics
• Replacement of through-hole and SMT components
• Use of power supplies, O-scopes, and signal generators
• Updating inventory
• Creating and Maintaining accurate records of repairs to Circuit Cards
• The ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Work as part of the Electrical team to quickly and efficiently resolve and repair PCBA’s
• Ensuring a safe, positive work environment
• Attend meetings as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Vocational Technical Certificate a plus, not required
• Ability to use microscopes for small assemblies for long periods at a time
• Electronics knowledge
• ESD: Knowledge of proper PCB board/component handling and ESD prevention practices, basic ESD theory
• Experience following Test Procedures and diagrams
• Knowledge of test methods, tools, and processes
• Ability to analyze and interpret data or other information to complete a task
• Excellent communication skills, and fluency in English language required (written & verbal)
• Familiarity with Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel
